All the businesses in the world have goals and targets. The goals and
targets are important in a business because they give a common feeling to the
employees. The employees of the business get a target to work towards. They all
make a combined effort to meet the goals of the business. The leaders of the
business are the people who set the goals. They set short term and long term
goals for a business because a business needs to have a goal-oriented approach.
A business with a vague approach will never lead to success, therefore, it is
important to have a set of goals for the business to meet. The leaders set
these goals and the employees need to meet them.

The employees can never work
properly if they are not provided with the necessary instructions. They need
instructions to work towards the goals of the business and the workers can only
do that if the goals of the business are clear. There are multiple goals a
business needs to meet. Here are business goals for small businesses.
1) Survival
It's not easy for small businesses to survive in the business community.
The growing businesses have a lot more resources than small businesses. They
can afford specialized workforce and better machinery which gives them an upper
hand and lets them get a higher market share. Therefore, small businesses
usually find it hard to survive in the business community. Hence, the first and
basic goal of a small business is to achieve survival. They try to survive in
the industry.
2) Growth
Small businesses always wish to grow. The leader sets the goals for the
business to grow. The growth basically represents the increase in the market
share. Small businesses aim to increase their market share. Growth is often
stated as a prerequisite for the survival. It is believed that a business will
automatically achieve survival if it achieves growth successfully.
3) Sales maximization
Sales of a business are calculated in absolute terms. Small businesses
usually have lower sales because of the size of the business. And the size of
the business is affected by a number of different factors, However, sales
maximization is an aim that is set by almost every business in the world.
Because an increase in sales leads to higher profits.
